CleanSlate’s Erasing the Past Campaign
Hello CleanSlate family. Those of you who attend our tattoo removal clinic on the second Saturday of each month are probably aware of the increased delays at some of our clinic.
These delays we have been experiencing lately are due to more participants and also due to the laser overheating from time to time. We always strive to provide the best possible service for our clients and have been in discussions for the last few months about how to reduce the wait times on Saturday.
Our discussions have led to talks about opening up on a second day, tentatively, the second Sunday of each Month. In order to do so and continue to provide prompt service, we are in need of upgrading our laser.
The upgrade is needed so we don’t lose the service contract we’ve had for the last 8 years due to the age of the equipment. While our popularity has allowed us to stay open and continue the program, we are always striving to serve more people. Currently we are only able to serve around 80 people each Saturday with an average of 120-150 trying to sign up for clinic each month.
We have setup a campaign on GoFundMe.com with a goal or raising $100,000 over the next 12 months. So far, we have reached 1.5% of our goal in a little under 2 weeks. We have a little over 11 1/2 months to reach our goal but at our current rate of raising funds, we will not reach our goal before the campaign is over.
In order to reach our goal, we need to raise approximately $2,000 per week for the next 12 months. This will cover the cost of the laser, the cost of the maintenance, the cost of having a doctor on call during clinic, and also the cost of repairs if a technician needs to come out and fix the laser during clinic.
In the meantime, we will continue our tattoo removal sessions at the Christopher Wahl Youth Center each Saturday and will asses if our laser can hold up for a half day on Sunday.
Our clinics are low cost, and while not free, they are some of the most economically priced clinics in Los Angeles. If our clinic has benefited you and you are near the end of your treatment, we ask you to consider donating to keep the costs low and pay it forward for the next group trying to erase their past.
Also, please forward our GoFundMe.com link and this blog post to any friends, family, and colleagues who can help in your circle of contacts.
